Flowers
Next to moonshots, I started to practice and develop my photography skills with flowers. "Indoor" flowers are nice as you can use them as motives all year round. If you develop the right view (and have access to nice gardens) you can also find great motives at the right time outside. For sure there are also great shots with grasses and trees.
Starting with "indoor flowers" was easy. Potted plants as well as cut flowers are readily available and seem to be easy to shoot initially. While I have a lot of pictures with wonderful cut flower bouquets from my early days, they do not qualify nowadays for this selection due to "strange" backgrounds and lightening setups. There is a (huge) difference between a nice snapshot of a great bouquet for a birthday or wedding anniversary and a great picture. There are still some really nice shots I am ready to show.
At the right time of the year, we have beautiful flowers outdoors. some of them are quite exotic (and yes, there is an overlap of indoor and outdoor flowers in some areas).
Technically not a flower, I have also great shots with trees (blossoming and not) as well as grasses and grain. More to come especially in more "difficult" lightening situations (fog for example).
